Welcome 2013!

A fresh look, a fresh start and a happy attitude.  So far LOL!

I've spent the morning cleaning up my laptop...including organizing my photobucket album online.  I really should have done it properly from the beginning...it was beginning to look like my sock drawer!

So some of my photo links may not be working as I've moved them around a bit, I'll try to update those as the days progress.   Please be patient!

I was very excited to start the day off with some new sewing.  Unfortunately our kitchen light blew.  That means darkness in the kitchen so no sewing.  I'm going to use it as my excuse not to cook today either.

I did try pilfering one of the lights in the bathroom but I must have pulled one that was on it's last embers because that didn't work in the kitchen.  When I tried to put it back in the bathroom it didn't work there either.  Ooops...should have left well enough alone.  Oh well, with one little bulb in the bathroom I'm going to call it romantic lighting.  Good reason to light a candle (as if there is ever a reason not to!).

So no cooking, no sewing...what is a girl to do?

Oh yes!  The first of my new cross stitching projects for the year!

Have you heard of Silver Creek Samplers?  I hadn't until recently when I saw a wonderful design called Grimes Ghost.  You can read Silver Creek's blog right here!   I'm adding this blog to my blog roll so I can keep up on what Diane is doing.

A few months back, I spotted Grimes Ghost at the online shop 123 Stitch!   It really appealed to me.  I suppose I must have talked about it a little too much on the 123 message board as next thing I knew, I received the chart anonymously in the mail!   123 Stitch is really good at keeping secrets and not letting you know who your unexpected gifter is.  Whomever you are, I thank you!!!!

A friend of mine went on a trip to the East Coast and got to visit an honest to goodness needlework shop!!  She took my floss list (lovely overdyed threads) and was able to pick up all the threads I needed to start this pattern.

I put myself on tight rein though, I had Christmas to get through with many other things that needed to be finished.  But you know what?  Christmas is over!!

Today I get to start this wonderful pattern.

Isn't he lovely?  I do not have the recommended fabric but am going to use a light natural linen instead.

Fortunately there are some good movies on tv today (can you believe I've never seen Iron Man 2?) so I'll be able to stitch as I enjoy tv this afternoon.

Tomorrow the shops will be open again and we will have light again.  Wait till you see what I have planned for my 2013 sewing!

Take care and have a great day!

Vivian

ps:  By the way, wouldn't he look fabulous with this design by La D Da?  Oh I have to get that one too!

Happy new year. I hope 2013 brings you all you wish for. I like your plans laid out in your last post.
Love the new cross stitch project. I think I'll finally get back to stitching myself this year. I still have a lot of projects unfinished and plenty more I'd love to start
